Michael Wu is a Partner at SingerLewak LLP’s Silicon Valley Tax practice. Michael has over 20 years of experience in accounting and corporate and personal taxation. Michael assisted US and foreign public and private companies in a full range of accounting and corporate tax matters including mergers and acquisitions and international tax matters. Michael joined SingerLewak LLP from Ernst & Young LLP in 2009, and his professional experience includes 13 years working at Big 4 accounting firms (PwC & EY) and over 3 years working at a NASDAQ company as the head of its tax department. Michael is a member of SingerLewak’s International Service group.
Michael’s clients ranged from Global Fortune 500 companies to start-ups in Technology, Life Sciences, Manufacturing & Distribution, Professional Services, Real Estate and Venture Capital industries.
Michael earned an M.B.A. in Taxation and a B.S. in Accounting (Magna Cum Laude) from California State University East Bay in California. Michael is a C.P.A. licensed in the states of California and Washington. Michael is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountant and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Michael serves as board member for nonprofit organizations including Asia America Multi-technology Association (“AAMA”) and ProspectSV. AAMA is a leading technology business network for fostering business growth, entrepreneurship and capital investment in technology enterprises across Silicon Valley and Asia. Michael speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and has been a frequent speaker at various accounting/tax seminars.
