Energy Reduction Pathways
ProspectSV is supporting nationwide policy research with Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) to characterize how industry tools, services, programs, and financing mechanisms can support compliance for upcoming energy reduction standards for smaller buildings and portfolios. Our work includes researching software tools for owners of smaller, underserved buildings who have limited resources and internal expertise. Activities under this task include conducting outreach and interviews with software providers, developing overviews of capabilities and benefits of products reviewed, and distributing results in a “snapshot analysis” to target audiences. ProspectSV is also conducting a landscape study of financing mechanisms related to energy efficiency and electrification investments for small businesses and under-served buildings. In addition, ProspectSV is engaging stakeholders through multiple working groups that will help inform LBNL’s Technical Assistance for Energy Reduction Pathway Policies by identifying specific building owner needs. Finally, we’re engaging owners, capital entities, and other CRE stakeholders on policy impacts, trends, and risk assessment approaches. The result of this work will be tailored approaches to engage small building CRE to accelerate market-achievable electrification and efficiency improvements nationwide.
