The Bay Area Climate Collaborative said Monday it received a $50,000 grant from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
The BACC is a public-private initiative launched by the mayors of San Jose, San Francisco and Oakland and area leaders to accelerate the Bay Area’s clean energy economy and response to climate change.
The BACC is a project of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group which, along with the Packard Foundation, was founded by David Packard.
The Packard award will be used to further such projects as the Local Government Electric Vehicle Fleet National Demonstration Project, which will bring 90 electric vehicles to municipal fleets throughout the region.
