Gary Hsueh

Director of Mobility Programs

Gary Hsueh, AICP, is the Director of Mobility Programs at Prospect Silicon Valley, where he is
responsible for the development and management of grant-funded demonstration projects, strategic
and business direction, and civic engagement. Gary is Principal Investigator for the FTA MOD
Sandbox Fair Value Commuting Demonstration Project for the City of Palo Alto and ProspectSV’s
project manager for the VTA Accessible Automated Vehicle. He is also leading research projects on
Estimating Impacts of Automated Shuttles, funded by the Mineta Transportation Institute and the
Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Gary brings a strong background in transportation planning
and project management that he developed while working nearly 13 years at Arup, an international
engineering and planning consulting firm. His experience spans a wide range of studies and plans
encompassing public transit infrastructure, transit-oriented development, campus master planning,
Transportation Demand Management and commute pilot programs, and feasibility of new
transportation modes including guideway-based and road-based automated transit. Gary is a
member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and is actively involved with the
Transportation Research Board, serving on committees related to emerging technologies and
automation for public transit. He has also organized breakout sessions focused on public transit and
shared mobility at the TRB-sponsored Automated Vehicles Symposium.
